Herdsmen kill SARS Commander in Oyo

Ibadan—The Commander of a team of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Oyo State was reportedly killed by herdsmen as they tried disarming the herdsmen, who were terrorising residents of Saki.
According to information gathered, the team of policemen had reportedly acted on a tip-off and moved to disarm the herdsmen, who have been terrorising residents of the area by robbing and raping their women

The herdsmen opened fire on the policemen and killed the Commander of the team, known as Sheu Magu.
The latest attack reportedly occurred at Ogbooro, which is about four kilometres from Saki.
A source told Vanguard: “The killing of Supol Sheu has made the issue a story. Before now, attacking women— especially in the evening and night— robbing and raping them is not news around here

Twenty one suspects have been arrested in Plateau over the killings and unrest in the state - Eleven of the suspects were arrested in connection to the killings in Barkin Ladi and environs - Fourteen others were arrested at the scene of a violent protest after the killings The Nigeria Police Force, Plateau state command, has arrested 21 persons in connection with the killings and unrest in Plateau state. The Nation reports that the suspects were paraded on Monday, July 2, at the OPSH Headquarters in Jos by the media officer of the task force, Major Adam Umar and Police public relations officer Tyopev Terna. Fourteen of the suspects were arrested at the scene of the violent protest that followed the Barkin Ladi's killings while 11 others were arrested in connection with the killings
